We take an opportunity to present 'Material Science'to the students of A.M.I.E.(I)Diploma stream in particular,and other engineering students in general.he object of this book is to present the subject matter in a most concise,compact,to the point and lucis manner.While preparing the book,we have constantly kept in mind the requirments of A.M.I.E(I) students,regarding the latest trend of their examination.To make it really useful for the A.M.I.E.(I) students,the solutions of their complete examination has been written in an easy style,with full detail and illustrations.

Two new chapters on eneral Themodynamic Relations and Variable Specific Heat have been Added.The mistake which had crept in have been elinimated.we wish to express our sincere thanks to numerous professors and students,both at home and abroad,for sending their valuable suggestions and also for recommending the book to their students and friends.

Services)and A.M.I.E.(I)examinations.In order to make this volume more useful for them,complete solutions of their examination papers up to 1975 have also been included.Every care has been taken to make this treatise as self-explanatory as possible.The subject matter has been amply illustrated by incorporating a good number of solved,unsolved and well graded examples of almost every variety.
